How to be more productive...

It’s been a slightly surreal morning. I woke up to discover I’d won a Porsche. Noooooooo not a real size one but a rather scrummy looking model that Little Frenzy went all gooey about and clapped his hands. A really nice way to start the day coupled with bright sunshine, dew on the grass and a laughter filled school run. Off to feed my mum’s cat, a lovely welcome of leg rubbing and overt 'cupboard love' that bolstered my feelings of well-being. A short ride home with my favourite music up loud continued to lift my spirits and confirmed that today was going to be a great day. On my return to Frenzy HQ I found Mr Frenzy tip tapping...

Great service at Churchill's

Last week on a bit of a whim, Mr Frenzy and I visited Southsea for a spot of shopping. I know these excursions usually end in one or both of us bitchin’ on about poor service, strange people and things that could only happen to us…and this time was no different!! A planned visit to my local John Lewis was just the ticket for a family birthday present. I worked in this store for eleven years so I have a soft spot for it. Less of a sprawling Department store, more of a ‘local shop’ feel, I love it above all others because of its idiosyncrasies and the many friendly faces I see on my trips. It’s been updated considerably...

The Great British Bake Off and why we should teach our kids about respect!

I love The Great British Bake off – a programme that transcends across all age ranges and walks of life. It’s one of the few TV shows that sees a range of competitors all sharing a love for something alongside a bit of humour from Mel and Sue, a baking wonder woman with Mary and of course a bit of ‘totty’ for us mums in the form of Paul Hollywood. Plus I love cooking and I love cake!! But this blog isn’t really about the TV show – I’ve just read about Claire Goodwin, the competitor who was knocked out last week, and her recent experiences with Twitter trolls who have been posting tweets about her weight. I’m not going...

Working and living together - does it work?

Mr Frenzy and I met a couple of people last night who just can’t believe that we live and work together. It’s never really felt like that big a deal to us but there’s lots of people out there, male and female who just can’t understand how we initially agreed to it and how neither one of us is now buried under the decking…(unfortunately we don’t have a patio!!) It all started in December last year. Having moved into our new house, it was then time for us to really get our heads down and do the stuff we had been talking about. Mr Frenzy is a ‘planner’. Unfortunately I just want to have a bit of a chat and...

My personal brand...

Mr Frenzy and I have started - Networking Gosh – well that seemed a bit grown up, actually writing it down! It all started a few months ago actually when we realised that sat in our office all day with only ourselves to talk to about ideas and ‘business’ stuff wasn’t going to do us or FrenzyHouse any good. So we went along to a local business group to shake hands with a few local ‘celebrities’ and discuss our local village economy. As our range of Network buddies has grown we have become aware of more meetings and so your circle widens – a bit like Twitter but scarier because you have to talk to real live people face to...
